About the Organisation

Micah Projects is a community organisation grounded in social justice and a commitment to human dignity. It holds that every child and adult has the right to safe and secure housing, an income, healthcare, education, safety, dignity, and meaningful connection with their chosen community. In practice, it provides a wide range of support and advocacy services that respond to the diverse needs, strengths, and circumstances of individuals and families.

The organisation's vision is to create justice and actively respond to injustice in the lives of individuals, women, children, and families, while fostering equality, inclusion, and acceptance. It works alongside people who experience exclusion, poverty, injustice, and social isolation, supporting them to access opportunities for inclusion, economic wellbeing, justice, and community connection.

As part of this commitment, advocacy is central to its work - supporting people to access resources and participate in processes that advance equity, redress, and justice. Many of the people supported have experienced histories of abuse, neglect, poverty, violence, fear, harassment, and discrimination. In recognition of this, the organisation is firmly trauma-informed in its approach.

With 16 locations across Brisbane, Moreton Bay, and North Queensland, alongside a range of outreach services, support is delivered where people are, in ways that prioritise dignity, compassion, and respect.
