The Public Service Association (PSA), a major public sector union representing over 36,000 workers across NSW, requires an in house Graphic Designer as part of its Communications team in Sydney.

The position

• Devise and create original, innovative, visually engaging materials for a wide range of mediums to promote the union and the work of its members
• Create promotional material including posters, flyers and templates as well as graphics for the PSA’s websites and social media
• Design and layout of the PSA journal, Red Tape along with all pre-press production.

Essential Criteria

• Degree in design
• Minimum 2-3 years working in a fast paced agency or client facing role
• Strong layout and typography skills
• Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Able to manage photographic shoots, as well as taking, editing and cropping professional quality photos
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and to manage rapid responses as part of a small Communications team in a continuous high pressure environment
• Personal commitment to trade union values and principles.
