We are the world’s leading organisation dedicated to girls’ equality.
At Plan International Australia, we believe that when we invest in girls, everything changes - their families, communities and entire nations rise. We tackle the root causes of inequality, shift money, power and influence toward girls and the local organisations closest to them, and mobilise evidence, resources and investment to create change at scale.
We are evolving. Our new strategy, Girls Rise, positions us as a bridge builder - connecting resources to impact so locally-led organisations can drive change for girls. We're investing in a fundraising pipeline, thought leadership, climate finance, and AI and automation. We're becoming leaner, smarter and more focused. And every role plays a part.
This is where you come in.
The Finance Operations Manager keeps the day-to-day financial engine of our organisation running - smoothly, accurately and efficiently. You'll deliver the transactional finance work that underpins everything else: supplier payments, income processing, reconciliations, payroll oversight and federation reporting. And you'll progressively improve how this work is done through automation and smart outsourcing.
Reliable, timely, accurate finance operations free the wider organisation to focus on impact. Your work directly supports the foundations of our strategic flywheel - because none of it turns without a solid financial base.
This role sits within the Business Performance & Optimisation portfolio, reporting to the Financial Controller and Transformation Lead, and works as a key enterprise enabler across the entire organisation.

We practise feminist leadership at Plan International Australia. That means you'll share power and decision-making, seek out the strengths of colleagues, and hold clear accountability for your areas of responsibility. You'll work beyond traditional team boundaries, embracing collaboration and coaching over directing. You'll be empowered to make decisions within your remit - consulting those with a stake and escalating when decisions are high-risk or hard to reverse.
We also expect openness to using AI and new technology responsibly and ethically, helping us work smarter and deliver greater impact for girls.

Values & Ways of Working
Safeguarding, gender equality, inclusion and anti-racism are central to who we are and how we work. We take seriously our responsibility to ensure that we - and anyone who represents us - does not harm, abuse or commit any act of violence against the people we work with, including children, young people, and all participants and partners.
Plan International believes that in a world where children and program participants face so many threats of harm, it is our duty to ensure that we do everything we can to keep children and program participants safe. As part of our efforts to create safe environments for children and program participants, candidates will be required to complete a satisfactory National police Check, sign our Safeguarding policies and code of conduct, and where necessary complete a Working with Children Check.
Submit your CV and a brief cover letter (no more than two pages) addressing how your experience and leadership approach align with this role.
We'll be reviewing applications and conducting interviews on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. We don't want to miss connecting with the right person.
