Peninsula Health is the major metropolitan health service caring for a community of 300,000 people. Our Vision is to provide exceptional health and community care.
In representing Peninsula Health, we expect all employees and volunteers to reflect our values: Be the Best, Be a Role Model, Be Open and Honest, Be Compassionate and Respectful and Be Collaborative. We are One Peninsula Health.
This position provides an exciting opportunity for Social Workers experienced in the field of family violence to expand their project coordination skills. The Strengthening Hospital Responses to Family Violence (SHRFV) initiative is part of the government response to the Royal Commission into Family Violence, and relates to Recommendation 95 which requires a ‘whole-of-hospital’ model for responding to family violence in public hospitals.
The SHRFV initiative builds on the collaboration between the Royal Women’s Hospital and Bendigo Health, with ongoing leadership and support provided by The Royal Women’s Hospital to metropolitan health services undertaking this important and complex work. The model is an implementation framework using a project management approach aimed at strengthening Peninsula Health’s capacity to identify and respond to family violence.
The SHRFV Project aims to increase staff competence, develop and share resources and build hospital capacity across Victoria to respond to family violence and improve outcomes for patients who have experienced family violence. Peninsula Health have developed and are now implementing a whole-of-network approach for embedding the practice of identifying and responding to family violence experienced by patients.
The SHRFV Project Coordinator will report to the Head of Social Work, within the governance of the Social Work Department. This is a full time position, however hours are open to negotiation.
