UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women

The Australian Government is now accepting expressions of interest from individuals who are interested in being considered for nomination to the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women for 2021-2024.

The Committee is the body of 23 independent experts that monitors implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. Committee members are elected by States Parties to the Convention for a renewable term of four years and serve in their personal capacity.

We are seeking expressions of interest from individuals with formal qualifications and / or recognised expertise in women’s rights, gender equality and human rights or another relevant field.
