Administration Officer - Alice Springs

NPY Women's Council

People of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent are strongly encouraged to apply.

Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women’s Council was founded and is still led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region in central Australia. It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Today, we continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence based work in service delivery, advocacy and support.

The People and Workplace Services department forms part of a business support team that includes Administration, Human Resources and Property and Vehicle Maintenance. We are responsible for delivering a professional business support service to employees and clients of NPY Women’s Council. We work together with other programs to employ and support a diverse mix of talent, and to create a high performing culture that is innovative, inclusive and safe to work in.

We are now recruiting for an Administration Officer to join us full time on a fixed term basis for minimum 12 months.

This role is the first point of contact for our organisation, with the main focus to coordinate travel and accommodation for staff, as well as administering our Emergency Relief Program. You will assist the HR team with recruitment processes, including liaising with candidates for interviews. The role also provides a range of other administration support to the People and Workplace Services team.

The successful applicant will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well in a fast paced, changing environment. Attention to detail is essential, as well as experience and interest in customer service. Experience working within a HR support environment will be highly regarded.

This is a unique chance to work for an organisation that takes a grassroots approach to community development. You will have the privilege of working closely with Anangu families and get to experience an amazing landscape and part of the world. This is an extraordinary opportunity to learn about yourself, another culture and grow professionally at the same time.

You will receive a comprehensive orientation program as well as best practice supervision, a competitive, above award based salary, salary packaging benefits, 5 weeks of annual leave, 3 days of additional leave, an annual retention bonus and generous personal leave to care for you and your family.
