About the role

The Program Officer, Commissioning will use their project and contract management skills to assist in the commissioned services across key community health stakeholders, and clinicians to guide service development, implementation and improvement. They will work with service providers to avoid hospitalisations and support integrated models of care across services.

What will my typical week look like?

• Communicate and manage performance of key stakeholders and/or service providers such as community health services and clinicians
• Consult subject matter experts, clinical leaders and consumers to ensure services are coordinated, accessible and person-centred
• Develop and deliver commissioning strategies, including project planning, stakeholder engagement, program logic development, and timely, accurate contract management.
• Use data management skills to establishment plans, collect data and contribute to evidence based strategies informed by consumer and stakeholder feedback

About you:

• Appropriate tertiary qualification in public health, public policy, health promotion, health service management, clinical studies or related studies and/or relevant 2-3 years experience of ‘on the job' professional skills and expertise
• Demonstrated project management and/or change management experience
• Demonstrated experience working with general practice, community health and/or local hospital networks or appropriate transferrable experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent writing skills with ability to prepare complex briefs and reports using clear language
• Knowledge of the Victorian health service system and contemporary health policy issues across the acute and primary care sector
