Good Shepherd’s purpose is to disrupt cycles of intergenerational disadvantage by providing specialist services such as domestic and family violence recovery, crisis and housing services, financial products and capability building and family counselling.

The Role

As part of significant and strategic impact plans, Good Shepherd has created a new Manager of Grants and Donor Relations role. The greenfield role is responsible for contributing to the development and enhancement of the organisation’s diversified grants and philanthropy strategy.

Specifically, you will:

  • Work closely with the executive team to develop and implement an income generation strategy
  • Partner with the service delivery streams to develop funding proposals for major projects and initiatives
  • Prepare compelling, targeted grant and tender submissions
  • Lead a small team in line with the vision and mission; ensuring organisational sustainability
  • Inspire philanthropic support from Grants, Trusts & Foundations

Skills Required

Demonstrated experience in the philanthropic and government grants sector and exceptional writing skills are essential.

You have a track record in creating and mobilising support with internal and external stakeholders along with the ability to think strategically, negotiating the best mission driven outcomes.

Your experience will also include:

  • Researching identifying and exploring strategy aligned sources of income
  • Effective monitoring of prospects, including acknowledgement, recognition and retention
  • Managing successful income raising strategies
  • The application of digital technology to diversify ranges of income
  • Working to targets and implementing new strategies for the sustainability of an organisation
