About the Role

To provide specific and effective advice on all matters related to the administration of community, ensuring that the policies and aspirations of the community are effectively pursued.

To liaise with a wide range of individuals and organisations in the operations of the community and the securing of resources to further the interests of the community.

Location and opportunities: We currently have multiple opportunities available for Permanent Community Development Advisors (CDA’s) across the Ngaanyatjarra Lands.

Your day-to-day duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Support the Community Directors / Board to perform its governance duties in line with community aspirations, constitution and relevant state and commonwealth law
  • Manage the day-to-day functions of the community office
  • Encourage the community to be fully engaged in community decisions including policies, land and culture activities, health and safety and economic development
  • Liaising with a wide range of individuals/organisations involved in the operations of the community
  • Acting as the community administration contact point for internal and external entities delivering a service to the community
  • Ensuring the effective recruitment, training, and management of staff reporting to this position
  • Maintaining a financial system that meets the requirements of funding agencies, in cooperation with service providers and monitoring all relevant funds
  • Encouraging community engagement in decision-making and working with the Community Council to develop policies for all areas of the community

About You

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including the ability to provide accurate, timely and appropriate services to clients
  • Well-developed work management, time management and organisational skills including the ability to effectively assign and manage workloads and identify resource needs
  • High level of judgement and decision-making skills, including the ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts in a sensitive and appropriate manner
  • High level of oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate information coherently and concisely in a cross-cultural environment
  • Previous remote experience is highly desired however not essential.
