The National Landcare Network is seeking a proactive and highly organised Business Manager to support the ongoing operations of Australia’s national representative body for community Landcare.

This is a flexible part time role based in our Canberra office on London Circuit, working approximately 15 to 20 hours per week. Hours can be flexibly spread across the week to suit both the successful applicant and operational requirements.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of key business operations within a purpose driven national organisation that supports community led environmental outcomes across Australia.

About Us

The National Landcare Network represents community Landcare across Australia and works collaboratively with State and Territory Landcare Organisations, government, industry and community stakeholders to strengthen and support the Landcare movement.

We are a small and collaborative national organisation focused on delivering meaningful impact and supporting grassroots environmental action across the country.

About the Role

The Business Manager will lead the organisation’s core business administration functions including finance administration, payroll coordination, operational systems and office management.

This is a hands on and varied role suited to someone who enjoys working autonomously, improving systems and helping organisations operate efficiently and professionally.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing day to day financial administration including invoicing, payments and reconciliations
  • Coordinating payroll processing and employment administration
  • Maintaining business systems including Xero, Employment Hero and Microsoft 365 platforms
  • Managing operational administration and office coordination
  • Supporting financial reporting, grant administration and compliance processes
  • Working closely with the CEO to support smooth business operations and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

You will be a proactive and organised professional who enjoys taking ownership of operational responsibilities and working across a broad range of business functions.

You will ideally have experience in:

  • Business administration, operations or office management
  • Payroll and financial administration
  • Xero, Employment Hero or similar systems
  • Managing competing priorities in a small and dynamic environment
  • Building efficient and well organised administrative processes

Experience within not for profit, community or purpose driven organisations would be highly regarded.
