This is an exciting time to join us as we expand our service delivery!
MWRC is proud to be working with DVConnect, Telstra Health, and Save the Children to deliver the 1800 RESPECT service on behalf of the Australian Government. 1800RESPECT is the national domestic, family and sexual violence counselling, information and support service. It provides free Confidential information, counselling and support service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support people impacted by domestic, family or sexual violence.
MWRC is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced Team Lead to its 1800 Respect team. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, this role will provide leadership to this national program. You will work flexibly and collaboratively to lead a team of specialist counsellors, alongside program partner teams to increase safety. You will be part of a group that works together to provide wrap-around support for persons experiencing family and domestic violence.
You are purpose-driven with a demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the rights and interests of First Nations people, and the safety of women everywhere. You’re able to connect and enable others to connect. You’re an advocate for change who is flexible, open, and adaptable. You’re inquisitive, creative and a clear thinker. You are compassionate and listen deeply. You know your strengths and recognise your limitations. Working within a healing framework and trauma aware workplace, you are committed to decolonising your own approach and work practices.
No two days are the same and this isn’t your usual telephone counselling role. The role is part of a close-knit multidisciplinary team delivering a person-centred service. In addition to providing leadership and support to the team, the role also requires you to work alongside professionals from partner organisations that deliver assistance in the areas of compliance, clinical governance, scheduling and training.
You’ll lead the identification of training/ education priorities and staff development programs. You might participate in quality reviews, clinical audits and community networks.
In line with our workforce development strategy, MWRC strongly encourages and supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants to apply.
