About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Community and Social Planner to join our Community Development team.

The successful applicant will provide research, planning and project management to facilitate data-driven decision making and planning across Council. The role provides the opportunity to engage across the organisation to plan for current and future service provision, and deliver social policy and infrastructure outcomes to meet the needs of the growing Moorabool Shire community. Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

  • Tertiary qualifications in social science, policy, research, planning, or other relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in community development and best practice engagement and consultation.
  • Demonstrated high level of skills and experience in social research; demographic analysis and policy development to inform planning decisions, services and program development/delivery.
  • Proven ability to prepare comprehensive strategic plans, reports, submissions and recommendations on key and emerging community issues with demonstrated extensive experience in engaging with community and presenting to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with staff and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to assess and interpret information to formulate recommendations and provide specialist advice to enable the organisation to achieve quality outcomes.
  • Experience in the use and analysis of demographic data to forecast social trends, model the potential outcomes of policy change and evaluate the effectiveness of policies and services.
