About the Position:

The Social Support Coordinator will be able to work with volunteers and clients, have demonstrated interest in culturally and linguistically diverse services, strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and excellent administration skills. The successful incumbent will be able to work independently and in a team environment, exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate information in a timely fashion.

A key function of the position is to expand the volunteer database and its programs in Queensland and some of the responsibilities include:

  • Recruitment and training of volunteers
  • Volunteers support and Supervision through regular contact with Volunteers
  • Ensuring clients are matched with volunteers to the satisfaction of both parties
  • Undertaking all associated administrative functions
  • Maintaining program budget allocation and guidelines

Location: Birkdale

Hours: Permanent Part Time position (3 days/22.8 hours per week)

To be considered for the role you must have:

Qualifications:

  • Qualifications in aged care or community services desirable

Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar business and a good understanding of community services and knowledge of volunteerism
  • Ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner within an ethno-specific environment
  • Ability to work with frail and/or confused clients and their families
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision
  • A flexible, caring and patient attitude

A police check with no disclosable outcomes is required by MiCare for this position.
