Who We Are

The Mental Health Professionals' Network (MHPN) is a government-funded organisation dedicated to enhancing the professional development and collaboration of mental health practitioners across Australia. It offers accessible, free continuing professional development (CPD) activities, such as webinars & podcasts that incorporate case-based discussions and skill-building exercises, as well as a podcast showcasing multidisciplinary and collaborative care. MHPN is committed to supporting quality care that is accessible, coordinated, and culturally responsive, with a focus on diverse populations and life stages.

Through its National Networks Program, MHPN fosters over 375 professional networks that strengthen the mental health workforce by promoting role clarity, resource sharing, and peer support.

Role Description

The Head of Marketing Communications & Partnerships will lead all marketing communication efforts and develop strategic partnerships to advance MHPN's mission and reach. Key responsibilities include creating and implementing marketing communications strategies, managing public relations to maintain the organisation’s reputation, and fostering collaborations with key stakeholders to support network growth and visibility.

Additionally, the role involves overseeing content development, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, and guiding a small communications team. This is a full-time position, hybrid working conditions, with an office in Melbourne CBD.

Qualifications

  • Senior expertise in in marketing, communications and member engagement, in a For-Purpose or Health sector organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, executing and evaluating communication strategies for organisations working in complex stakeholder environments
  • Strong skills in Communication and Public Relations to foster partnerships and maintain a positive public image
  • Demonstrated leadership ability managing teams and coordinating cross-functional initiatives
  • Proven ability to identify, develop and maintain professional relationships with external partners
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Management of risks, privacy principals, and project & budget management
  • Knowledge of mental health or healthcare sector communication is highly desirable
  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (eg. Health promotion)
  • Experience in a similar role with a track record of success in marketing campaigns and partnership development

Previous experience in the key deliverables noted in the Position Description is required.

Full time: 37.5 hrs p/wk, Hybrid role (2 days p/wk in Melbourne CBD office, Monday & Thursday)
