About the opportunity

At Mercy Health, you'll become part of a proud history built on over 100 years of expertise, skill and care. As Group Director Mission & Pastoral Care, you'll use your expertise and leadership capacity to develop, coordinate, and deliver formation programs, and to ensure the identity and charism that inspires Mercy ministries today, and the adoption of Catholic Social Teachings is strengthened across the organisation.

To thrive in this role, you will have the following experience and skills:

Experience

  • Considerable experience in senior leadership roles in mission-based organisations
  • Practical experience, knowledge and understanding of application of Catholic theology, social teaching principles and contemporary teachings of the Catholic Church.

Competencies

  • Well formed and active in the Catholic faith
  • Practices with a high level of integrity and professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Knowledge about contemporary health and aged care
  • A sound understanding of organisational culture, practices, and issues
  • Ability to establish and build trusted and effective working relationships and partnerships
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Mercy Health and Catholic Health - this includes a requirement to be highly principled and embrace the values of Mercy Health
  • Proven capability to provide ethics education and formation within the Catholic health and aged care context.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check
