Advance neonatal brain imaging research using AI and MRI to improve outcomes for babies and children!

The opportunity:

As part of the Developmental Imaging Group, you'll lead the analysis of large neuroimaging datasets from studies involving preterm infants, fetal growth restriction and congenital heart disease. 

You'll also contribute to the development of the Neonatal Automated Neuro-Anatomist (NANA), an innovative automated infant brain analysis platform designed to support future clinical practice. Working with dedicated high-performance computing resources, you'll collaborate with clinicians, engineers and researchers to develop advanced image analysis methods and publish impactful research.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the analysis and quality assurance of large-scale paediatric MRI datasets
  • Develop advanced neuroimaging analysis methods and image processing pipelines
  • Contribute to AI-enabled brain imaging tools for clinical translation
  • Publish high-quality research and present findings at national and international conferences
  • Contribute to competitive grant applications and ethics submissions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams and clinical partners
  • Support students and contribute to a collaborative research culture

What you’ll bring

  • A PhD in Medical Imaging, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Experience in high-throughput neuroimaging analysis
  • Experience working with clinical MRI datasets, including structural and/or diffusion MRI
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning or machine learning techniques
  • Experience using neuroimaging analysis software and automated image processing pipelines
