Literacy for Life is the national leader in supporting Aboriginal Adults with their reading and writing. We run First Nations led Campaigns and have helped 500+ First Nations learners and have employed 100+ First Nations staff. We have worked with community since 2012 in places like Bourke, Wilcannia, Brewarrina, Walgett, Coonamble, Orange, Cairns, Tennant Creek, and Kempsey.
The Mt Druitt Campaign is thriving and has been running since 2024. We are about to start our 6th intake of students, and need a new coordinator to keep up the strong momentum and build it into the future.
The Coordinator helps to run the Mt Druitt Adult Aboriginal Literacy Campaign. This includes being a positive role model to other First Nations staff, getting mob involved as students and organising community activities.
$35 per hour x 28 hours per week.
Part-time 12 months contract with the possibility to extend.
This is an identified position. Applicants must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
No teaching or education experience is needed. We’re looking for someone who wants to help their mob learn to read and write. You will be willing to learn, well organised, reliable, a good communicator and role model to other First Nations staff.
