ADFNSW which operates Kathleen York House, seeks dynamic individuals to be part of its multidisciplinary team. Kathleen York House is an abstinent based residential treatment facility for women, and women with children, experiencing drug and alcohol and mental health issues. The service offers a unique opportunity for women suffering from addiction issues to seek assistance and improve their quality of life.

  • Employment Status: Part time
  • Award: SCHADS Award - Level dependent upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation and attractive salary sacrifice arrangements

Purpose of Position

To provide case management; group facilitation; program administration; and, formal and informal support to Kathleen York House Clients and their children.

Selection Criteria

  • Degree/ Post graduate qualification in relevant field for Senior AOD position and Tertiary or equivalent qualification for AOD worker
  • Experience in the alcohol and other drugs field
  • Excellent understanding of the complex range of issues involved in substance misuse, including for women caring for children, for young people and for people with co-occurring mental health problems
  • Understanding of clinical issues in treating substance-dependent women
  • Comprehensive Case Management competencies
  • Experience in trauma informed care and mental health issues
  • Understanding of the policy, legal and regulatory environment for treatment of substance-dependence and drug education, including child protection
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Current Drivers Licence and the ability to drive a passenger vehicle (i.e. mini bus)
  • Current First Aid Certificate

Desirable

  • Graduate/ Diploma for the AOD position
