The Organisation

Karrkad Kanjdji Trust (KKT) is a Melbourne-based not-for-profit that partners with Indigenous ranger groups across Arnhem Land, NT, supporting community-led land and sea management across more than 50,000 km² of culturally and ecologically significant country.

The Role

A part-time (0.6 FTE) senior finance position reporting directly to the CEO, paying $155k–$170k (FTE) plus super. The Finance Manager leads all financial management functions and also serves as Company Secretary, making it a dual finance-and-governance role.

Core Responsibilities

  • Financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, payroll, and audit coordination
  • Administering grants, restricted funds, and the KKT Endowment Fund (including investment reporting)
  • Governance, risk, and compliance — ACNC, Corporations Act, DGR, GST/FBT obligations
  • Board and committee support: meeting coordination, statutory registers, board papers
  • Continuous improvement of financial systems and internal controls

Ideal Candidate

A CPA/CA-qualified finance professional with strong governance and NFP experience, ideally familiar with grant acquittals, trust/endowment administration, and working with or alongside First Nations organisations. First Nations applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
