Support After Suicide, a suicide postvention program, is an initiative of Jesuit Social Services. Operating in the metropolitan region of Melbourne and in rural Victoria since July 2004, the program aims to develop, implement and document an effective service model that responds in an effective, compassionate, appropriate and timely manner to those bereaved by suicide.
This role is to manage a new initiative, the StandBy After Suicide program. This involves establishing the StandBy program in two areas in Victoria: north west/south east metropolitan Melbourne; and eastern Melbourne/Gippsland.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity, to lead the establishment of the StandBy program across metropolitan Melbourne and Gippsland. The StandBy After Suicide Manager is responsible for implementing and managing all aspects of the program.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced manager, who has a background in the provision of services to people who have experienced bereavement and trauma.
Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline (e.g. health field, social sciences, business management, education) or equivalent years of experience and at least five years’ experience in a related field, including management expertise.
This is a full time role based in Melbourne.
