About the Organisation

Johnson Recruitment is proud to partner exclusively with Kevin Heinze GROW (KHG) to find an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to join their team. KHG is a highly respected and pioneering Victorian not-for-profit organisation with a rich 40-year history of transforming lives. Operating across beautiful, dedicated garden sites in Doncaster and Coburg, KHG delivers innovative therapeutic horticulture, allied health services, and community participation programs tailored for individuals navigating disabilities or mental health challenges. This is a rare opportunity to build a meaningful career in a genuinely unique, nature-based support environment.

About the Role

We are seeking an inspiring, values-driven, and contemporary executive to step into the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Reporting directly to a collaborative Board, you will execute the strategic plan, elevate commercial stewardship, and deliver operational leadership to guide KHG through its next chapter of impact, whilst being supported by an experienced, dedicated and passionate leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Strategic Evolution: Champion the implementation and continuous refinement of the KHG Strategic Plan, ensuring the organisation remains agile, innovative, and responsive to sector reforms.
  • Ensure Commercial & Financial Stewardship: Oversee robust financial planning, budgeting, and corporate governance. You will actively cultivate diversified revenue streams, exploring grants, corporate partnerships, and philanthropic opportunities.
  • Inspire a Purpose-Driven Culture: Mentor, develop, and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary workforce, cultivating a psychologically safe, collaborative, and inclusive environment.
  • Elevate Advocacy & Partnerships: Act as a compelling voice and ambassador across the community, disability, mental health, and philanthropic sectors to expand KHG's profile and influence.
  • Uphold Service Excellence: Maintain executive oversight of operational systems and regulatory compliance (including NDIS frameworks), while supporting data-informed frameworks to measure genuine social impact.

About You

This role calls for an emotionally intelligent, authentic leader who pairs commercial acumen with a genuine passion for community outcomes. To excel in this position, you will possess:

  • Proven senior executive experience within the community services, disability, health, or broader not-for-profit sectors, complemented by a strong understanding of NDIS funding landscapes.
  • Demonstrated success in managing financial sustainability within complex environments, with a distinct advantage if you bring experience in philanthropic growth or partnership cultivation.
  • A collaborative, inclusive management style with a track record of building capability and leading multidisciplinary teams through growth or organisational change.
  • Experience working effectively alongside a Board of Directors, coupled with a sophisticated understanding of compliance, risk frameworks, and public advocacy.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, leadership, allied health, or community services, alongside a mandatory NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, Working with Children Check, and Police Check.

The Offer

This legacy opportunity offers a unique chance to lead a highly regarded organisation where your operational outcomes will directly translate into profound community impact. Stepping into a three-year, fixed-term role with an organisation primed for growth, you will enjoy a competitive executive salary package further enhanced by attractive PBI salary packaging options.
