Girl Guides Australia (GGA) is seeking a CEO to lead and deliver on its mission to empower girls and young women to discover their potential as leaders of their world. GGA is committed to being Australia’s leading organisation for girls and young women in leadership and personal development.

GGA is the peak organisation providing strategic direction, advocacy and coordination of Girl Guiding in Australia (GGiA). GGA works with State Girl Guide Organisations (SGGOs) to promote and enable growth and success of Girl Guiding in Australia and advocating for girls and young women nationally and internationally.

Collectively GGA and SGGOs have a common purpose:- Through girl-led programs championing fun, friendship and adventure, Girl Guiding empowers girls and young women to find their voice, discover their potential, explore possibilities and make a genuine difference in their world.

The CEO is responsible for the effective co-ordination of stakeholders to deliver the strategic plan, under the direction of the GGA Board. The CEO works across volunteer, employee and other stakeholders to enable a strong and supportive culture, maximising opportunities for success by GGA and GGiA overall.

Key responsibilities of the CEO include:

• Strategy & planning - Work with the Board to develop, shape and champion the strategic direction for GGA, influencing the direction of GGiA.
• Provide authentic, clear and dynamic leadership to the GGA team (staff and volunteer), ensuring alignment to the values and culture of Girl Guiding.
• Ensure a strong and collaborative relationship is maintained and developed between GGA and SGGOs. Work with GGA and SGGO leadership to develop clear structures and processes to guide these relationships.
• Revenue diversification.
• Resource management & financial accountability.
• Operational excellence & risk management.

Essential criteria for an incoming CEO include:

• Strong track record in CEO or Executive leadership positions in the not-for-profit sector.
• Experience / understanding of fundraising in a NFP organisation.
• Outstanding stakeholder and relationship management skills and an ability to optimise high level and key relationships across extensive networks and contacts.
• Understanding and experience of member and volunteer organisations.
• Understanding of federated organisation models.
• A detailed understanding of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
• A high level of integrity and professionalism.
• Confident and effective communication skills with a range of audiences.
• People oriented, energetic and dynamic with an enabling, consultative and empowering style and a track record in developing high‐performing teams.

On offer is a salary of $200,000 + Super. This is very much a purpose filled role that has a huge and positive impact on the experiences of girls and young women Australia wide, through programs, opportunities and advocacy.
