About Impact Co.

Impact Co. supports organisations that work with some of the most marginalised and disadvantaged people in our community. For the most part, this means that we work with organisations operating in or connected to the following sectors:

  • Health
  • Mental Health
  • Disability
  • Indigenous affairs.

Our work takes a human-centered approach, ensuring that the voice of the end user is always prioritised. We adopt this approach to three, specific areas of work:

  • Strategy development
  • Service, product and business design
  • Evaluation and review.

The position:

We are seeking an individual to join our dynamic and growing team, leading a diverse portfolio of projects in each of the sectors in which we operate. In particular, we are seeking an individual with extensive consulting experience that can readily step into the leadership of all aspects of project delivery and management, while also guiding and mentoring a small (but growing) team of high-calibre consultants.

Regarding the role itself, you will lead projects from inception to completion, both autonomously and directly with the principals and the other team members. You will do this to deliver innovative, practical and meaningful impact for our clients. It is this approach that is often most valued and which differentiates us from our peers.

The work that you will be doing will include:

  • Consulting – This will include undertaking the following activities:
    • Leading all aspects of project delivery, including (but not limited to):
      • Quality assurance across projects and individual deliverables. This will include the ability to lead and provide strategic oversight across all analysis, both qualitative and quantitative, produced during consulting projects
      • Workshop design and facilitation
      • Effectively managing client relationships
      • Guiding and mentoring team members to deliver high-quality work
  • Business development – This will include proactively identifying and sourcing new opportunities for Impact Co. to deliver its consulting services. This will require you to actively engage your existing network, as well as identify and pursue other opportunities as they arise (ie, as a result of sector reform). In addition, you will be required to actively lead the development of tender submissions
  • Engaging – Participating in key client meetings and liaising with key stakeholders
  • Driving growth and impact – Identifying key opportunities for business improvement and growth (both for client organisations and for Impact Co.)
  • Enabling – Providing assistance to other parts of the business where required, not being afraid to get your hands dirty

What we’re looking for:

  • An individual with extensive consulting experience, with the ability to design, manage and lead a portfolio of projects, while also guiding and mentoring a small (but growing) team of high-calibre consultants
  • Strong understanding of at least one of Impact Co.’s sectors of focus. Preferably, this knowledge will be the result of your work in this sector
  • Extensive networks in at least one of Impact Co.’s sectors of focus
  • A deep commitment to and ability to readily apply the concepts of design thinking and co-design to Impact Co.’s sectors and services of choice
  • A proven track record in business development, from both direct, relational work and from leading public tender submissions
  • Ability to work autonomously across a variety of projects with a small, tight-knit team
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, pushing to deliver innovative solutions to complex social problems
  • Intermediate-to-advanced skills with MS Office (especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Strong communication skills – both written and oral
  • Experience in designing and facilitating workshops
  • Creating thinking, with a desire to do things better
  • Able to multi-task and handle ambiguity.

Your qualities:

  • A big heart – You are passionate about creating positive social change and the people you work with. This must include prioritising the voice of those most marginalised
  • Proactive, with a can-do attitude
  • Grit and a strong resolve
  • Ambitious, with a desire to push boundaries
  • Desire to support business growth through active business development
  • Curious
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit – wanting to be part of a small, ambitious (and growing) team that is working to make a difference
  • High levels of empathy – with the community and those in different positions
  • Confidence and experience leading client meetings and the direction of the business
