Shelter Lead - Biyani House

Impact Advising
  • Lead a dedicated frontline team supporting women and children escaping domestic and family violence
  • Provide operational leadership, coaching and case management oversight within a community-led women's shelter
  • Full-time permanent role based onsite in Revesby, NSW

The Impact of the Organisation

Biyani House was established in 2022 in response to a critical need for safe crisis accommodation for women and children escaping domestic and family violence in the Canterbury-Bankstown region. As the area's first specialist women's shelter, Biyani House was created through a powerful collaboration between Women's Community Shelters, local organisations, businesses and community members, united by a shared belief that every woman deserves safety, dignity and the opportunity to rebuild her life.

Today, Biyani House provides crisis accommodation, outreach and holistic case management for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence or homelessness. In partnership with the NSW Government and Women's Community Shelters, Biyani House has recently expanded to become a Core and Cluster shelter, increasing its capacity to provide safe accommodation and tailored support for women and children.

Guided by a vision of creating a community that values all women, the organisation delivers culturally responsive, trauma-informed support that empowers women to heal, regain independence and build safer futures for themselves and their families.

  • Coordinate staff supervision, onboarding, workforce planning and professional development.
  • Collaborate with Women's Community Shelters through practice forums, network meetings and professional development opportunities to strengthen service delivery and share best practice.
  • Support the ongoing development of operational systems, policies and service delivery practices.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with local services and referral partners to strengthen pathways and outcomes for clients.
  • Work closely with the CEO to support the continued growth and development of Biyani House.
