Women's Community Shelters is a leading not-for-profit organisation dedicated to ending homelessness for women and children across New South Wales.
Through a growing network of crisis and transitional shelters, WCS provides safe accommodation, support and pathways to independence for women experiencing homelessness, domestic and family violence and housing insecurity.
Driven by collaboration, compassion and advocacy, WCS partners with communities, businesses and government to create sustainable solutions that change lives. As the organisation continues to grow its network and impact, its people remain at the centre of everything it does.
This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in creating a positive employee experience across a purpose-driven organisation making a real difference in the community.
Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you will support the delivery of end-to-end people and culture initiatives across both the WCS Hub and its expanding shelter network. From recruitment and onboarding through to employee lifecycle processes, compliance and workforce reporting, you'll help ensure people practices are practical, consistent and embedded into everyday operations.
More than coordinating HR activities, you'll build trusted relationships, improve systems and processes and help create an engaged, supported workforce that enables WCS to continue delivering critical services to women and children when they need them most.
This is a six-month fixed-term, part-time opportunity working 20 hours per week across three to four days with flexibility around the days worked. There is a strong possibility for the role to become permanent at the conclusion of the initial contract.

Continuous Improvement & Organisational Support
You are an organised and proactive HR professional who enjoys working across a broad range of people and culture activities. You thrive in environments where no two days are the same and take pride in delivering a high-quality employee experience from recruitment through to ongoing support.
You bring solid generalist HR experience and understand how strong people practices contribute to organisational success. Comfortable managing competing priorities, you're equally happy coordinating recruitment, preparing employment documentation, supporting compliance or improving processes behind the scenes.
Your approachable and collaborative style allows you to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation. You communicate with empathy, exercise sound judgement when handling confidential matters and enjoy working as part of a team committed to making a meaningful difference.
Ideally, you'll also bring experience within the not-for-profit or community sector, along with an understanding of Australian employment legislation and the SCHADS Award. Experience using HRIS platforms such as Employment Hero will be highly regarded.
If you're passionate about creating exceptional employee experiences and want to contribute to an organisation changing lives every day, we'd love to hear from you.
