Fundraising Manager - Lou's Place

Impact Advising
  • Create meaningful change for women experiencing crisis
  • Hands-on fundraising role with strategic scope
  • Redfern-based, flexible hybrid working, part-time (3 days per week) with flexible work patterns on offer. Hours can be worked flexibly to suit individual circumstances

This is a rare opportunity to join a grassroots organisation that supports women in crisis. You’ll shape and drive the fundraising and marketing strategy at a pivotal moment in Lou’s Place’s growth - backed by a committed board, engaged volunteers, and a trusted name in women’s services.

Impact of the organisation

Lou's Place is a unique, daytime drop-in centre for women in crisis.

Women come to Lou’s facing homelessness, domestic and family violence, addiction, mental health issues, hunger, and deep social isolation. On a typical day, 40–50 women walk through the door for warmth, safety, and connection, and receive casework support, referrals, hot meals, showers, therapeutic activities, and most importantly, dignity.

This is a place of safety, community, and healing and your work will directly fund these life-changing services.

With demand surging and need growing, Lou’s Place is now scaling its fundraising capacity to create sustainable, long-term impact and this role is key to that vision.

Impact you will have in this role

As Fundraising Manager, you will take the lead in building sustainable income across major gifts, trusts and foundations, corporate, and government sources, while overseeing a marketing coordinator who will deliver on brand development, website content, social media and engaging content creation.

This is a broad and rewarding fundraising role that suits a passionate fundraiser who thrives on connection, storytelling, and purpose. You'll have the support of a passionate CEO, a hands-on and well-connected Board, and a community of dedicated volunteers and frontline staff who deeply believe in the mission.

You'll step into a role with strong momentum, fantastic fundraising results already achieved, infrastructure in place (CRM, policies, data, supporter base), and an organisation that is ready to invest in growth. You’ll help shape the cases for support, build donor pipelines, and be the driving force behind income growth.

This is your chance to lead with purpose, heart, and strategy and see the real-world impact of every dollar raised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an integrated fundraising strategy across major gifts, trusts and foundations, corporate, community and government
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward high-value relationships with major donors and partners
  • Manage and grow Lou’s grant and tender portfolio (local/state/federal government and philanthropy)
  • Lead all aspects of fundraising execution, identifying new opportunities, testing initiatives, and driving continuous improvement across donor acquisition, retention and stewardship
  • Build and manage a robust fundraising pipeline, tracking performance against targets and ensuring strong return on investment across all fundraising activities
  • Provide leadership and accountability for fundraising outcomes, regularly reporting on revenue performance, pipeline health, forecasts and growth opportunities
  • Identify and develop strategic corporate partnerships, sponsorship opportunities and community engagement initiatives that increase both income and organisational profile
  • Act as the organisation’s fundraising lead, embedding a culture of philanthropy and ensuring fundraising opportunities are maximised across all areas of the organisation
  • Oversee donor data and CRM, ensuring accurate segmentation and tracking, and produce donor analytics reports to the CEO and Board
  • Create compelling cases for support, donor proposals, acquittals, and impact reports
  • Oversee marcomms strategy and team member, creating communications and collateral that drive brand development and revenue growth
  • Work closely with the CEO and Board to leverage networks and grow strategic income

Skills and Experience

We’re looking for a relationship-focused, values-driven fundraiser with a passion for women’s safety, social justice, and systemic change.

You bring:

  • Proven experience in philanthropy (major gifts/trusts/foundations/grants)
  • Track record of meeting financial targets and building donor pipelines
  • Strong written communication and storytelling skills, including proposal and grant writing
  • Ability to build relationships and influence across a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on execution ability - you’re comfortable doing both
  • Experience using a fundraising CRM and producing donor reports
  • A genuine desire to work in a small (but mighty) organisation in a hands-on and fast-paced role
  • Passion and connection for the work; supporting this wonderful community-based drop-in centre for women in crisis, feeling isolated or needing support
