Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa (KJ) is seeking enthusiastic and self-motivated people with a sense of adventure for the role of Ranger Coordinator. Currently there are roles available in communities in the eastern Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Key functions of this position are to facilitate, organise and enable a Martu ranger team to undertake:
The position works within an exciting cross-cultural context and aims to enable Martu to realise aspirations of getting back to their traditional country, passing on knowledge and culture to younger generations, actively looking after country to make it healthy again and making Martu communities sustainable for future generations.

It has been operating as an independent Martu company for 10 years and works in the remote communities of Jigalong, Parnngurr, Punmu and Kunawarritji. Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa (KJ) is an established, successful and highly-regarded Indigenous organisation based in the Eastern Pilbara town of Newman.
It has a strong reputation for engaging and supporting Martu in successfully delivering these programs and is the biggest employer of Martu in the region. To do so, KJ delivers a suite of social, cultural, environmental and economic programs.
Being community-based, it is an important position and crucial for success of KJ’s programs and for the success of the community itself. The role of a Ranger Coordinator is both challenging and highly rewarding.
KJ’s staff are passionate, creative, committed and resourceful in the design and implementation of programs and activities, in partnership with Martu. Building these partnerships require KJ staff to be adaptive, consultative and it demands the ability to listen to, understand and respect Martu staff views and attitudes.

The position is based in a remote community northeast of Newman in Western Australia.
A remuneration package consisting of a base salary plus superannuation, commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful applicant, will be negotiated.
The position has generous conditions including rent and phone, salary packaging of allowable pre-tax earnings and 10 weeks annual leave.
