why you'll love working with us

At headspace National, we believe every young person deserves access to skilled, compassionate mental health care. Behind every great clinician is someone who inspired, supported and developed them. This is your opportunity to be that person at a national scale.

We're looking for an experienced allied health leader to join our Workforce Planning & Development team, where you'll lead innovative programs that develop Australia's future youth mental health workforce. From growing student placement opportunities across the country to building the capability of our Clinical Educator network, your work will influence how thousands of emerging clinicians begin their careers.

what you'll do

You'll provide strategic leadership across several national initiatives that strengthen the pipeline of allied health professionals entering youth mental health.

You'll lead the growth and sustainability of our national student placement program, oversee discipline specific initiatives across psychology, social work and occupational therapy, and drive the development of a highly capable Clinical Educator workforce supporting headspace services nationwide.

This is a role where you'll think strategically, collaborate and influence nationally.

what you'll bring

You're an experienced clinician and leader who enjoys developing people just as much as delivering great clinical outcomes.

You'll bring:

  • Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or Occupational Therapy.
  • At least 7 years experience in mental health clinical practice.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the youth mental health sector and the headspace service network.
  • Experience building strategic partnerships and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Exceptional communication, project management and organisational skills.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.
  • A genuine passion for growing Australia's future allied health workforce.

To be successful, you'll need:

  • Current eligibility for registration or membership with your relevant professional body (AHPRA or AASW).
  • A valid Working With Children Check.
  • A satisfactory National Criminal History Check.
  • Full Australian working rights.
  • Capacity to undertake occasional travel.

If you're ready to influence the future of youth mental health and leave a lasting legacy on Australia's clinical workforce, we'd love to hear from you.
