why you'll love working with us

At headspace, you'll be part of something genuinely meaningful. The Be You initiative is a nationally recognised, federally funded program supporting schools to build mentally healthy communities and you'll play a key role in bringing that to life.

You'll work alongside passionate, multidisciplinary teams and partner organisations like Early Childhood Australia and Beyond Blue, all united by a shared purpose: improving outcomes for young people.

This role offers variety, autonomy, and impact. You'll connect with schools across your region, deliver engaging learning experiences, and support communities through both everyday wellbeing initiatives and more complex situations.

You will also be eligible to access headspace benefits including:

  • Not for profit salary packaging
  • 15 days personal leave
  • 14 weeks paid parental leave
  • Additional leave over the Christmas/New Year period
  • Hybrid working arrangements - 2 days in the office, 3 days from home
  • Access to EAP
  • Access to professional development

what you'll do

You'll partner with schools to embed the Be You framework in practical, meaningful ways - helping educators feel confident in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of their students and staff.

Day to day, you will:

  • Build strong relationships with school leaders and wellbeing teams, supporting them throughout their Be You journey
  • Translate the Be You framework into practical strategies tailored to each school community
  • Facilitate engaging online and face-to-face learning sessions for educators and school staff
  • Support schools to plan, respond and recover following critical incidents, including suicide postvention, using evidence-based approaches
  • Identify opportunities to expand Be You engagement across your region
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve program delivery
  • Maintain accurate records of school engagement and contribute to reporting and evaluation activities
  • Stay across emerging trends in youth mental health, education, and wellbeing

what you'll bring

You're someone who combines expertise with empathy, comfortable engaging a wide range of stakeholders and passionate about making a difference in young people's lives.

You'll bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. education, public health, community development, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, counselling)
  • At least 3 years' post-graduate experience in a related field
  • Strong knowledge of mental health, education, or public health policy in Australia
  • Proven experience building relationships and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders (ideally within schools or community settings)
  • Confidence facilitating learning for adult audiences, both online and in person
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to different audiences
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience with data systems and reporting
  • A current driver's licence and willingness to travel (including occasional overnight stays)
