About the role

As part of the Community Health Programs, the Health Promotion team coordinates and supports a variety of projects and activities aimed at raising awareness of and addressing priority health and wellbeing issues.

An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic Health Promotion Officer to join our supportive multidisciplinary team. The Health Promotion Officer is responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of prevention and health promotion projects and initiatives that support the health and wellbeing of communities within the program’s catchment area. Examples include the Smiles 4 Miles, Vic Kids Eat Well and RESPOND programs. In this role you will work collaboratively with internal and external services and organisations to support an integrated approach to addressing priority health and wellbeing issues.

We are looking for:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in health promotion, public health, community development or similar
  • Well developed understanding of prevention and health promotion concepts including social determinants of health and population-based health planning
  • Skills and experience in applying evidence-based approaches to delivering prevention and health promotion projects and activities
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake community engagement, build professional relationships and facilitate collaborative partnerships
  • Skills in evaluation, measuring outcomes and reporting of collaborative prevention and health promotion activity using appropriate frameworks and tools
