KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities will include:

  1. Ownership of the bank reconciliation process for all accounts at State Office as well as provide support to Local Group accounts.
  2. Ensure that the Accounts Payable process is completed on a timely fashion.
  3. Provide support on the record management process of all financial transactions.
  4. Provide support on the payroll process.
  5. Provide support to the Finance and Compliance Manager on any request from the State and Federal Electoral Commission regulators.
  6. Provide support to internal stakeholders on all the organisation’s accounting and financial matters and platforms.
  7. Other duties as directed.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

The Junior Finance and Compliance Accountant must meet the following essential requirements:

  1. Studies at tertiary qualification level in Accountancy, with at least two years exposure to financial auditing.
  2. Working towards a CPA or CA qualification.
  3. Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite, with advanced level in Excel as well as Xero and Dext Prepare.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment
  5. Superior analytical skills and attention to detail..
  6. Excellent organisational skills in managing competing priorities and deadlines.
  7. Ability to provide a high-level customer service to internal / external stakeholders.

Successful candidates must not be a member of another political party.

PAY AND CONDITIONS 

  • Salary range: $76,835 plus Superannuation, Pro-rata. (Administration Worker Step 4) + 10.5% superannuation. 
  • Primary Location: The Greens NSW state office, Suite D, 263-279 Broadway, Glebe. 
  • Hours: 3 days a week. 21 hours.
  • Status: Permanent Part Time.
  • Position begins: November 2021.
  • Covered by: The Greens NSW Staff Collective Agreement.
