About The Role

Based at our emergency accommodation property, the Program Support Worker role plays a vital part in delivering a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based response to women and young people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

You will support the daily operations of the site and collaborate closely with our case management and therapeutic teams to help clients achieve their goals. The role includes both individual and group support, transport, administrative tasks, and assistance with maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. You are comfortable being the sole worker during sleepover shifts at the accommodation (active hours: 5pm-10pm, sleepover: 10-6, active Hours: 6-9am), additional allowances are paid in accordance with the SCHADS. 

Please note: the successful candidate must be available to work weekends & after hours and hold a current drivers licence. 

Key Responsibilities

• Support the coordination and delivery of activities tailored to client needs
• Assist adult and young victim survivors in achieving case plan goals
• Provide emotional and practical support in a trauma-informed manner
• Facilitate transport to appointments and access to services
• Support clients with daily living and life skills
• Complete site inductions and maintain a welcoming, safe environment
• Monitor site safety, complete light cleaning and room set-up
• Report maintenance issues and manage inventory and stock ordering
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with quality and compliance standards
• Support the broader team in administrative tasks and operational duties
• Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing development opportunities

About you

• Minimum Diploma in Community Services or equivalent
• Experience working in the family violence or community services sector (desirable)
• Knowledge or training in the MARAM Framework (highly regarded)
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Current Victorian driver’s licence
• First Aid Certificate (desirable)
• Ability to undertake shift work (including after-hours and weekends)
• Working with Children Check (Employee)
• National Police Check
• Australian working rights
