As a Financial Counsellor, you’ll support a broad and diverse range of clients including those affected by family violence, mental health challenges, illness, and other complex life circumstances to navigate financial stress and build long-term financial wellbeing.
Using a trauma-informed and empowerment-based approach, you’ll provide intensive support through in-depth assessments (via phone, video, or face-to-face), case work, advocacy, and tailored financial options. You’ll also play a key role in triaging and referring clients to other services, working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to ensure holistic support.
You’ll work closely with the Brimbank team, with the added variety of spending one day each week at the Melton Justice Centre. In this role, you’ll oversee your own caseload and be part of a supportive, team environment.
This is a contracted role until June 2027.
