About Us:

Join Gippsland Centre Against Sexual Assault (GCASA), a community-driven organisation funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH), Victoria. We provide crucial sexual assault and family violence crisis services across the Gippsland region.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical supervision and support to Intake Counsellor / Advocates.
  • Oversee the organisation’s Demand Management Strategy.
  • Identify and address professional development needs.
  • Support advocacy efforts within legal, medical, and governmental systems.
  • Contribute to organisational planning and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate client records and statistical data.
  • Participate in community development and education activities.
  • Hold a small caseload as negotiated with the Clinical Manager.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent certification from a nationally accredited provider in social work, counselling, family therapy, or psychology, welfare, or relevant qualifications.
  • Have two years’ experience in providing clinical supervision, and a commitment to ongoing clinical practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of frameworks related to the understanding of sexual assault, including feminist empowerment philosophy and social inclusion theory.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience working therapeutically with children, young people, individuals, and families, including those from diverse backgrounds presenting to our service.
  • Proven ability to manage and communicate with Intake Counsellor/Advocates and key stakeholders to manage risk, safety planning and protective approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate with team and promote positive team culture.
  • Advanced understanding and commitment to privacy and confidentiality and knowledge of and commitment to adhering to a professional code of conduct.

Other Requirements:

  • The role comes with a six-month probationary period.
  • Availability on Wednesdays.
  • Willingness to travel across Gippsland and to Melbourne occasionally.
