Philanthropy is pivotal to the sustainability and future growth of National Museum of Australia, ensuring its vision and strategic aspirations are met. Leading a small dynamic team, as Head of Development, you will have the extraordinary opportunity to drive a culture of philanthropy and private giving, aligning with the Strategic and Business Plans of the National Museum of Australia. Working closely with the executive, senior management team and Museum Council, you will identify prospects, design compelling proposals, steward donors and secure major gifts for the long-term benefit of the Museum.
Reporting to the Deputy Director, Growth & Engagement, you will provide strategic direction and inspirational leadership to the Development team, its programs and goals, and drive business development relating to major gifts from individual donors, trusts, and foundations as well as cultivating bequests for strategic projects and potential future capital campaigns.
Additionally, the position plays a pivotal role in fostering engagement across the Museum to ensure strong connectivity with the Museums’ Strategic objectives, other key initiatives and development activities.
