Services are delivered by over 350 staff at sites in Wodonga, Wangaratta and Myrtleford in Victoria, and through outreach services provided across North East Victoria and Southern NSW. Gateway Health services include medical practices, allied health, refugee health and sexual health; health promotion; alcohol and other drug services including home-based withdrawal; chronic disease management; Indigenous programs; aged care services including assessment; NDIS services; counselling services, family violence, men’s behaviour change, Gambler’s Help; and mental health programs including headspace, youth services, young parenting and family support programs.
The Men's Behaviour Change Program (MBC) is designed to enhance the safety of women and children by assisting perpetrators of family violence to change their behaviour. This role involves the range of case management processes including but not limited to intake, assessments, case planning, and maintaining engagement with clients while waiting to begin the MBC Group program. The MBC Case Manager will also participate in post-group follow-up work with clients.
The purpose of this position is to provide intensive case management for clients of the Men’s Behaviour Change Program.
This position is a key component of Gateway Health’s initiatives and response to family violence.
Our new employee will develop a best practice approach and coordinate the delivery of the MBC Program (according to the No To Violence minimum standards) for the Ovens Murray region.
This will include prompt response to referrals, assessment of individuals for group programs, organisation and co-facilitation of groups (as required) & provision of individual counselling.
You will liaise with the MBC Case Managers, Family Violence Program staff, Department of Justice and Family Violence Network.
