FWHC is one of twelve non-profit, community-based women's health services in WA. With a reputable 35-year history, FWHC delivers primary healthcare, social care, and health education to meet the needs of SW Metropolitan communities, especially those at risk of poorer health outcomes or facing barriers to accessing traditional healthcare. Located within proximity of priority areas Fremantle, Willetton and Cockburn, our integrated service model has never been in greater demand, presenting opportunities for considered growth. Under the leadership of respected CEO, Amy House, together with the Board of exceptional senior leaders, FWHC is developing a new strategic plan for the future.

About the Role

The Deputy Chair works closely with the Chairperson to provide effective governance, strategic direction, and oversight of the organisation. The successful candidate will contribute to Board discussions, support decision-making, and assist the Chair in fulfilling leadership responsibilities when required.

We Are Seeking

Applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • Non-profit or NGO funding/organisational models
  • Social determinants of health
  • Integrated healthcare models
  • Primary healthcare or women's health
  • Translational and applied health research.

Time Commitment

  • Board meetings are held every two months, with monthly financial and summary reports by circulation.
  • Participation in Board committees or working groups may be required from time to time.
  • Attendance at an annual strategic planning session (approximately half a day on a Saturday) is expected.
