Learning Development Lead - Flexible Location

Future Women

Join us as our Development Lead, Learning Programs! This role sits at the intersection of creativity and clear planning, where you will co-lead content production, review, and revision for all of FW’s learning deliverables. If you're committed to smart digital delivery and embracing helpful AI tools to ensure our programs remain fresh, scalable, and deeply aligned with our mission, you'll enjoy working in our team. We are a team that values experimentation; you’ll have the license to try new formats, leverage fresh technologies, and champion informed, practical experimentation with AI across the team.

A core priority for this role is expanding our impact by actively designing and delivering learning experiences that connect with, support, and engage First Nations participants, women of colour, and migrant communities navigating barriers to work. Because you design with everyone in mind, you naturally consider the accessibility of content and learning activities, bringing a curious and considered approach to recognising a range of lived experiences.

We know that great learning designers come from all walks of life. You might have a traditional background in instructional design, or you might have built your skills in teaching, media production, or community organising. If you're ready to challenge the status quo and develop thought-provoking, engaging online learning experiences that align with our mission to help women secure their economic futures, this role is the one for you!

This is a full time role, 2 year contract with the opportunity to extend. While our offices are based in Sydney and Melbourne, this role is open to candidates located Australia and New Zealand wide.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Co-lead the creative design, development, and regular review of learning programs alongside the Specialist, Learning and Content. You will collaborate to seamlessly fuse fresh ideas with clear, structured planning, balancing practical, evidence-based design with industry best practices. Use participant feedback to drive continuous improvement while ensuring deep alignment with learner needs, client objectives, and the FW mission.
  • Co-design and facilitate accessible, culturally safe and tailored learning experiences that engage and support First Nations participants, women of colour, and migrant communities
  • Introduce and champion best-practice digital delivery and innovation by exploring, testing, and scaling new educational technologies and interactive formats to keep our learning experiences modern and highly engaging.
  • Champion informed, practical experimentation with AI across the team, using AI-assisted tools to speed up content development and setting up automated workflows within Asana to handle routine tasks, freeing up more mental space for team innovation.
  • Lead the project management of content development partnerships with external contractors, acting as the key quality check to ensure external work and schedules align with our internal frameworks and high standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Memberships and Partnerships teams to build customised learning solutions, ensuring our content stays highly responsive to new market trends, specific client needs, and the evolving interests of the FW community.
  • Advise and assist the Director (Learning Programs) in implementing strategic direction, refining everyday workflows, and executing high-level team priorities.
