The Orange Door

The Victorian Government has committed to implementing all 227 recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence and to delivering on the vision described in Roadmap for Reform: Strong families, Safe children. A key recommendation of the Royal Commission and the Roadmap for Reform was to establish a network of Support and Safety Hubs (The Orange Door). The Orange Door will deliver a fundamental change to the way we work with women, children and families, and men. The Orange Door will bring together different workforces and practices to create an integrated Orange Door team to create a new way of support.

The Orange Door Team will include a mix of staff employed by local Community Service Organisations (CSO’s) for the Loddon region together with Family Safety Victoria and DHHS. These organisations are Bendigo District Aboriginal Cooperative (BDAC), Njernda, Anglicare and Centre for Non - Violence working collaboratively to provide and deliver services for The Orange Door across the breadth of the Loddon region.

The position of Aboriginal Practice Lead, Orange Door Loddon, is an exciting opportunity for a senior Indigenous practitioner to make a difference to individuals and families in Community who are affected by family violence or accessing family services support. You will be working within an innovative integrated service system, alongside other Practice Leads ensuring the best service delivery and outcomes drawing on your extensive knowledge of the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This position will require the ability to lead other professionals and advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander service users, ensuring a cultural lens is used in the work of the Orange Door Loddon, as well as across the broader Loddon service network.
