Background

The Eastern Metropolitan Region (EMR) Regional Family Violence Partnership (RFVP) is a partnership of organisations dedicated to the governance and implementation of statewide family violence reforms, It plays a critical role in connecting and convening stakeholders whose work intersects with family violence.

The EMR RFVP is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri and Bunurong people of the Kulin nation. Member organisations are located across the two Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) areas of Inner Eastern Melbourne and Outer Eastern Melbourne.

The RFVP is committed to embedding the voice of lived experience in all aspects of its work, in line with the RFVP Strategic Plan.

Position

We are seeking an experienced Independent Chair for our Regional Family Violence Partnership, which brings together community, health and government organisations and other stakeholders to drive collaboration and deliver positive outcomes for our region.

As Independent Chair, you will provide strategic leadership, facilitate productive discussions and ensure effective governance of the Partnership. You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills and a strong commitment to achieving shared priorities.

About you

We are looking for someone who

  •  is experienced in chairing boards, committees, or multi stakeholder partnerships
  • has a comprehensive understanding of the drivers and impacts of family violence and the current family violence policy and reform context in Victoria and nationally
  • has excellent governance knowledge, strategic leadership and sound decision making skills
  • has highly developed interpersonal skills and is able to engage with a diverse group of stakeholders.

Appointment:

This is a three-year contract with an initial 6-month probation period. The hours are flexible and allow for opportunities to contribute at a state-wide level.

Remuneration will be $23,000 per year.

Appointment to this position is subject to a satisfactory Police Record Check and Working with Children check.
