Port Phillip EcoCentre

About the EcoCentre

The Port Phillip EcoCentre connects, educates and inspires people to care for our land, water, wildlife and wellbeing. Our multidisciplinary staff and 3400+ volunteers implement innovative environmental and climate action programs with a network of 300 cross-sectoral partners. Our flagship approaches include education, citizen science, on-ground work, network building and evidence-based advocacy. We work as three teams: Education, Community Action and Impact.

The EcoCentre is currently working with the City of Port Phillip and Victorian Government to complete the redevelopment of our St Kilda Botanic Gardens site into a ‘world-leadership’ rated sustainable community hub, launching in late 2024. The building is solar-powered in a beautiful passive energy design using cross-laminated timber.

Moving into the new EcoCentre will enable program expansion, venue capacity uplift, and growing our impact. We've been around since 1999, and this transition kicks off a very exciting new chapter! It will involve a period of change, and the opportunity to establish new ways and tools of working both within the organisation and for our many community venue users.
