The organisation operates across multiple sites-with services in Mitchell Shire, Hume Moreland and Northeast Melbourne and is continuing to grow their footprint. The position will operate with flexibility across multiple sites and will be part of an innovative high performing leadership team who has a bold and ambitious strategy. Their services work together with families and communities to deliver the best outcomes for children now and into the future.

Working closely with the GM, Early Childhood Education & Care you will lead and manage the expansion of their Early Years services (currently 12 Centres) to deliver quality strength based educational and support services to support their purpose which is to empower children and their families to grow and develop positively, from early years and beyond. The Senior Manager will be instrumental in providing both strategic and supportive operational management of their Early Years Centres with a plan to grow more new Centres in 2025 and beyond. 

You will also:

  • Inspire others with a ‘can do attitude that promotes a high level of motivation within the team.
  • Work collaboratively within the team and wider Kids First community.
  • Proactively contribute to the successful evaluation of the Early Years model in partnership with the Pedagogical Leader and Murdoch Research Centre. 
  • Ensure that early years operates within the Kids First model of service and actively engages with other senior Leadership team members. 
  • Plan and lead professional development and team building experiences across the early years’ service.
  • Drive a culture of process improvement and innovation with a focus on best practice.
  • Ensure early years services operate and are compliant with all regulatory and licensing requirements to operate to the highest standards against their quality framework.

The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified in early childhood education and/or teaching, and have demonstrated experience in program planning, managing, evaluation and improvement in an early education and care setting. You will also possess sound early years program and practice experience and have proven experience in both operational management and senior leadership. You will be well connected within the early years sector and have a strong commitment to working with children and families who have been affected by family violence, child abuse and neglect and other social and wellbeing issues.
