Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) is a community organisation providing crisis intervention, follow-up and case management supports and services to all people affected by domestic violence in the ACT. An exciting opportunity is available to join a specialist domestic and family violence service, overseeing the delivery of the Room4Change Men’s Behaviour Change program, with a focus on the safety of those experiencing violence.

The priority of our Service is for the safety of the people who have been subjected to domestic or family violence, recognising that the majority are women and children.

DUTIES

The Manager Behaviour Change and Accountability will:

  • Have the skills/experience to speak to domestic and family violence risk assessment, risk management, and safety planning
  • Oversee the delivery of the Room4Change Men's Behaviour Change Program.
  • Provide practice leadership across the service in relation to sharing of risk information and patterns of perpetrator behaviour.
  • Manage the delivery of several funding contracts, including liaising with funding bodies, data collection and reporting.
  • Network with multidisciplinary services and agencies to build and foster relationships with key stakeholders
  • Provide training and support to new staff
  • Provide supervision, oversight and support to Men's Behaviour Change and Partner Support Practitioners
  • Engage in support/reflection, supervision, performance appraisal and debriefing processes as required
  • Supervise and maintain an overview of client work and work practices and ensure the Executive Director is informed and updated of relevant service issues
  • Provide an operational escalation point for team members in managing matters of complexity such as immediate risk and safety needs
  • Promote the public profile of DVCS and the needs of those affected by domestic violence through education, training, and the facilitation of workshops as directed
  • Undertake administration/operational tasks as requested

SELECTION CRITERIA

The Manager will require the following skills, experience, and capabilities:

  • Extensive practice and leadership experience working with people using violence
  • Significant experience in delivering high quality best practice Men’s Behaviour Change programs with focus on the safety of those experiencing violence
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the drivers of domestic and family violence and its impact across the community; as well as issues affecting people with complex needs who require a range of system responses.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting people who have experienced domestic and family violence, and the ability to make sound judgements and appropriate referrals. Including for those actively engaged in the MBC services and using violence
  • Demonstrated experience in writing and delivering comprehensive and high-quality reports for funding agencies and governing bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing tasks and ensure deadlines are met and expectations managed when issues arise.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team of people with a focus on leading and maintaining a growth mindset regarding professional development, as well as team development.
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business.
  • A demonstrated commitment to the values of equity, inclusion and diversity.
  • Ability and willingness to contribute to an on-call leadership team roster.
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Card.
  • Current driver’s licence.

SALARY

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the SCHADS Award level 8.1 to level 8.3. Salary commensurate with qualifications, demonstrated skills and experience.
