Be part of a new role, new team to support women and children build recovery and resilience in a dedicated and integrated team with TRAK Forward Program (Therapeutic Recovery for Adults and Kids) team. 

We are looking for an experienced Family Violence Practitioner - (TRAK Forward Therapeutic Key Workers) to work as part of the Inner East TRAK Forward Program (Therapeutic Recovery for Adults and Kids) team delivered by the Lead Organisation – Anglicare Victoria – Eastern Region. 

The TRAK Forward Program is part of a collaborative partnership between Anglicare Victoria, drummond street, Relationship Matters.

TRAK Forward Therapeutic Key Workers support the therapeutic recovery of parent / carer and children survivors of family violence using a trauma informed approach focused on safety, empowerment and connection.

The Inner East ‘TRAK Forward’ Program (Therapeutic Recovery for Adults and Kids), offers a range of therapeutic interventions to support the recovery of women and children from the impacts of Family Violence.

This position will be employed by drummond street services and be embedded as part of the Inner East TRAK Forward team in Anglicare’s Box Hill office. 

The drummond street practitioner will also spend some time at drummond street sites (Head office; Carlton) or one of our other Northern region sites; Epping or Coburg) but will work and be part of the Anglicare Eastern Region’s TRAK Forward team in Box Hill.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION 

drummond street services delivers a range of programs that support wellbeing, including supportive counselling, therapeutic support, case support, group programs, including programs that promote recovery and resilience across Metro-Melbourne and Geelong  We deliver programs based on evidence, co-design, co-production principles, family oriented, person-centred that improve wellbeing.  

The TRAK Forward partnership combines the skills, expertise and diverse knowledges across the different services as part of an integrated support service that includes;

  • team of key therapeutic recovery practitioners
  • Therapeutic and safety focussed recovery plans
  • Evidence based individual, Family and group therapy
  • 1:1 coaching (in home or in community settings)
  • Ongoing peer support.
  • Focus on supporting women and children to build recovery and resilience
  • Situated within a broad range of generalist and specialist family support programs which work alongside the TRAK Forward program. 

drummond street delivers a range of  therapeutic, evidence-based and trauma informed approaches, across the spectrum of interventions; including early intervention, informed by queer feminist gendered response to family violence, and provide ongoing individual and family risk and safety assessments, therapeutic case planning, management and review, warm referrals to appropriate local services and relevant interventions for women who have enacted violence and those who have been harmed, including children.

We are recruiting a qualified and experienced practitioner to be part of the establishment of this program.  

ROLE

The Senior Practitioner position will:

This position will:

  • provide ongoing individual and family risk and safety assessments, therapeutic case planning, management and review, warm referrals to appropriate local services and relevant interventions for women and children.
  • Provide specialist therapeutic interventions using trauma informed counselling in one or more of the following support areas:
  • Family Therapy, Play Therapy and/or Child-Parent Therapy
  • In home (or outreached) support coaching
  • Group Facilitation
  • Ongoing Peer Support group facilitation
  • assess risk particularly in relation to systemic abuse and family violence and assist parents/ carers and children to develop safety plans.

Participate in intake and duty roster systems, ensuring families and service providers receive a professional, timely and supportive response to service entry. 

ESSENTIAL/ DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Minimum Degree level qualification in social work, welfare, family therapy, psychology, counselling or the equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of a range of trauma informed approaches including the ability to work flexibly to meet the family’s needs and work on an outreach basis.
  • Demonstrated understanding of a gendered analysis of family and intimate partner violence and the limitations and challenges
  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs, issues and sensitivities of people from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal, LGBTIQ and culturally and linguistically diverse people and communities.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with individuals and families with complex needs such as family violence, drug and alcohol and mental health issues
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a strengths-based framework that empowers families, maximises their choices and recognises their contributions and expertise.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working within the family violence, the Child Protection system and/or the child, youth and family welfare system, including effective risk assessment and safety planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in working effectively with a broad range of families, including but not limited to Aboriginal families, families from various culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, families living with a disability, kinship carers and grandparents, and LGBTIQ families
  • Demonstrated capacity to work within integrated, collaborative and systemic approaches.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise work tasks.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work creatively, show initiative, contribute ideas and be active in a supportive team environment in an agency working to support individual and family relationships within the context of family violence
