Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is part of the Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination (PRVC) group in the Department of Justice and Community Safety and is responsible for coordinating services for victims of crime in Victoria. The Family Violence Restorative Justice (FVRJ) Service within VSSR, delivers restorative process options to victim survivors of family violence.
The FVRJ Service was developed as part of the reform agenda arising from the Royal Commission into Family Violence, and is guided by a framework of principles that was developed collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. The FVRJ Service is designed to build on existing restorative justice practice and also to extend its use in new and innovative ways to meet the restorative needs of victim survivors of family violence.
The Restorative Justice Practice Lead leads the FVRJ Service's practice team, made up of Convenors and Specialist Support Workers, in delivering trauma-informed, victim-centred restorative options to victim survivors of family violence.
