Position Summary:

The West Division Child Protection Program prides itself on its commitment to making children safe, supporting stronger families, and protecting future generations.

The dynamic and professional practitioners located within our South West Child Protection Program, service a diverse client base within one of Victoria's outstanding regional centres.

An outstanding opportunity currently exists for a highly motivated individual to either join the Portland based team or provide leadership in this role in a remote capacity. Success in this role in a remote capacity will require a demonstrated ability to quickly establish strong relationships with sector partners and Area based child protection practitioners and senior managers. Your leadership will be evidenced by your ability to operate independently and will be highly regarded.

The Senior Practitioner (Family Violence) supports the capacity of child protection practitioners to better respond to risk for children exposed to family violence.

Pivotal to your success in this challenging yet fulfilling role, ideal candidates will possess:

  • Highly developed risk assessment skills in a family violence context.
  • Superior understanding of child development, attachment and trauma theories in relation to child protection practice.
  • Leadership acumen coupled with experience assuming a mentoring role.
