Your role

Imagine finishing each day knowing your work has helped someone take a step towards a better future. As a Services and Programs Officer at Broken Hill Correctional Centre, you'll support offenders and remandees through assessment, case management and rehabilitation programs that encourage positive change. No two days are the same—you could be facilitating programs, responding to crises, coordinating support services or helping someone prepare for life after release.

Why Broken Hill?

This isn't just a new job—it's an opportunity to build a meaningful career and an exceptional lifestyle. Broken Hill combines the benefits of regional living with the opportunity to make a real difference in your community. With affordable housing, short commute times and a welcoming, close-knit community, you'll have more time to enjoy what matters most. Outside of work, you'll discover stunning outback landscapes, national parks, vibrant arts and culture, and endless opportunities for adventure. If you're looking for a role that offers purpose, challenge and genuine work-life balance, Broken Hill could be the change you've been looking for.

What you'll do

Every day brings the opportunity to help someone take a step towards positive change. From assessment and case planning to rehabilitation and reintegration support, you'll play an important role in helping offenders build safer, more productive futures.

No two days are the same. You might facilitate a group program, provide one-on-one support, respond to a crisis, or help someone prepare for release. Through professionalism, resilience and empathy, you'll contribute to safer communities and better outcomes for individuals and families.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who believes in the power of positive change. You'll bring resilience, empathy and sound judgement, with a genuine commitment to helping individuals build better futures and improving outcomes for communities.

Using your experience in assessment, case management and intervention work, you'll support people with complex needs while building trust, encouraging engagement and maintaining professional boundaries. As a strong communicator and team player, you'll work alongside colleagues and community partners to support rehabilitation, reduce reoffending and create lasting change.
