Canberra Rape Crisis Centre (CRCC) is a non-government, not for profit organisation working to eliminate sexual violence against adults and children of all genders. CRCC provides free, professional and confidential counselling and support for victim survivors of sexual violence, and their families, who have experienced any form of sexual violence recently or in the past.

Job Summary

The Crisis Coordinator play a key leadership role in the delivery and coordination of CRCC’s crisis phone line, and crisis call out services. This role is responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality, trauma informed therapeutic support to people impacted by sexual violence.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Clinical Director the Crisis Coordinator will oversee the operations of the crisis teams, including client intake, allocation, waitlist management to ensure triaged, timely and effective service delivery.

The Crisis Coordinator will support the provision of trauma informed crisis intervention and counselling and attends external callouts and after-hours responses.

The Crisis Coordinator will regularly undertake the role of Emergency Contact (EC), providing an escalation point for staff ensuring after-hours operational oversight, clinical consultation, decision-making, and support to staff in managing critical incidents, client risks, and service delivery matters.

The Crisis Coordinator will provide clinical supervision, guidance, and support to staff, facilitate clinical and peer review meetings. The Crisis Coordinator will contribute to staffs’ professional development through mentoring and performance feedback. The Crisis Coordinator may be required to hold a small case load of clients as required.

Working in partnership with the Clinical Director, the Crisis Coordinator will support the implementation and review of policies and procedures, contribute to quality assurance and service planning, and use data to inform continuous improvement. The Crisis Coordinator will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen coordination and referral pathways.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor or Master of Psychology, Social Work or Counselling from an Australian or recognised equivalent university.
  • ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration.
  • Australian Driver’s License.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time on an ongoing basis.
  • Evening and weekend work as required.
  • On-site or external locations as required.
