Established in October 1970, Community SOS (Community Support and Outreach Services Central Coast) operates from the Narara Community Centre and Yaringaa Building, Woy Woy. We are a multi-service organisation whose mission is to enhance the quality of people's lives by providing services which enable them to live with dignity and respect.

The opportunity is a Client Support provider to work 3 days per week in our Gosford City NILS microfinance program in Central Coast NSW, based at Narara.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Microfinance Program Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to join the Community Support & Outreach Service as a Microfinance Client Support Provider for 3 days per week. In this role, you will be responsible for providing personalised support to clients accessing the No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS), helping them to achieve their financial goals. Immediate start available.

Remuneration is based on the SCHADS Award Level 3, in accordance to experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct intake assessments and establish support plans for NILS clients including creating budgets
  • Provide one-on-one guidance and mentoring to support clients through the loan application process
  • Liaise with clients, community partners and other stakeholders to facilitate successful loan outcomes
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation in line with organisational policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the NILS program through feedback and recommendations
  • Represent the organisation and promote the NILS program within the local community

ABOUT YOU

Ideally, the successful applicant will have the following attributes:

  • Qualifications in Community, Social Services, or the equivalent.
  • Budgeting skills
  • Must live on the Central Coast NSW or within 50kms.
  • Relevant qualification in community services, social work or a similar field
  • Certificate in CHCSS00077 Financial Literacy Education Skill Set will be highly considered
  • Budgeting skills
  • Experience working directly with vulnerable or disadvantaged individuals and families
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills to support clients through complex situations
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial literacy and microfinance principles
  • Familiarity with local community resources and referral pathways
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, outlook, digital filing and databases
  • Experience in analysing and interpreting financial data such as budgets, bank and income statements
  • Proficient time management skills & ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a current Working with Children and National Police Check
  • Class C drivers licence and a reliable car
