About the role

This position sits within the AOD CBD Response cluster, which aims to improve the wellbeing of people who use alcohol and other drugs, delivering a human rights approach, outreach and case management.

This role will carry a case load for casework and will also contribute to the delivery of outreach harm reduction services to women and gender diverse individuals and groups.

Your duties include:

  • Carry a caseload of clients for case work, building relationship with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist clients with support needs to set goals, delivering case work and providing short term referrals
  • Undertake assertive street outreach within a multidisciplinary team
  • Provide harm reduction education, advocacy, and referral

Our ideal candidate:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in a relevant discipline (e.g. Alcohol and Other Drugs, Community Development, Social Work)
  • Lived experience will be highly regarded
  • Sound knowledge of case work and the health and social issues and service sector for people who use substances and sleep rough, as well as an understanding of MARAM Framework 
  • Strong belief and personal alignment in cohealth Values and Mission
